guile began for me as a kid, in barbershop chairs from inner-city boston to nashua, nh.
at 9, my family moved from dorchester to a suburb that felt foreign. i felt lost. but the barbershop became my refuge—a small slice of home where i felt genuinely seen.
the dominican and puerto rican barbers welcomed me like family. they owned their identity, inspiring me to embrace my own.
they showed me my hair's potential. it wasn't just about looking good—it was transformative. they unlocked a confidence i didn't know existed.
